The Ai Tong School Alumni Association Table Tennis Nurture Cup is an ongoing initiative held at the Singapore Sports School in the month of November every year. In collaboration with Sin Ten Sports Trading (joint organiser), we hoped to promote table tennis both as a competitive and recreational sport and to nurture Singaporean table tennis talent.
The "Singaporeans-only" competition, comprising Under-8, Under-10 & Under-12 boys/girls singles and Under-12 mixed team events, aims to provide all Primary 1 to 6 Singaporean students who are passionate about table tennis the opportunity to participate in a tournament to stretch their skills, build up their confidence and make new friends from other schools in the process. To encourage more aspiring table tennis champions to come forward to participate in the competition, all STTA YDS (Youth Development Squad) & Char Yong Dabu Top 10 Youth players are NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in the singles event.
The Nurture Cup is able to attract both current and past students, build lasting relationships and support Ai Tong’s School development in the table tennis arena. The Table Tennis Nurture Programme seeks to provide systematic development of the talent pool in table tennis from current and past students as well as Alumni members, who could be suitable candidates for Ai Tong School Alumni Association’s Table Tennis Interest Group or Competitive Team.
