Nurture Reading Programme

Nurture @ Sin Ming (a.k.a. Nurture Reading Programme)
Every Saturday from 10.00 am to 12.00pm
Ai Tong School

Ai Tong School Alumni Association, in partnership with the Community Development Council (CDC), is running the Nurture Reading reading-programmeProgramme at Ai Tong School every Saturday.

Up to 20 disadvantaged children aged 7 to 12 attend the programme. Conducted by a certified teacher and supported by volunteers to guide the students during class, this programme helps the kids gain self-confidence by improving their ability to communicate in English.

The programme comprises two core modules – Communications (20 weeks) and Problem-Solving (20 weeks). The activity-based curriculum is designed to be interactive, engaging and child-centric. With targeted lesson plans for each Primary Level, the programme aims to complement existing educational efforts and help children strengthen their academic foundation while developing essential skills that will equip them for the future.

We seek more volunteers to help out with the programme. Students from polytechnics, junior colleges, technical institutes and universities are also welcome to join as volunteers, and Values In Action (VIA) hours will be credited.

If you can help out at least once a month, please email us at: inquiry@ai-tong-alumni.org.sg (attention to Ms Siew Ching) for more details.
